Job Summary
Due to our explosive growth we are hiring General Assembly employees. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology at Viridian. Viridian is a recognized leader in innovative green laser sights, weapon mounted tactical lights and holsters in the firearm industry.
How will you spend your time?
- Creating assemblies and subassemblies for laser sights and holsters
- Through hole and surface mount soldering of components
- Completing repetitive work with small components and tools
- Working in a team environment
- Reading work instructions, communicating with leads and coworkers, occasional writing
- Some overtime is required
- General Assembly work hours are Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A good work record with strong attention to detail
- Good mechanical aptitude (prior electronics and soldering experience preferred)
- Ability to work with hands and perform repetitive work with small components
- Good verbal English; basic reading and writing in English

- Prior electronic assembly and soldering experience

Electrical Engineer
Maple Plain, MN
Job Summary
Our rapid growth and new product development plan has created a great opportunity for a talented Electrical Engineer to help bring our next generation of products to market. This is a hands on position responsible for design, project management and continuation engineering.
How will you spend your time?
- Researching and developing low power systems for controlling lasers, LEDs, and related components
- Providing hands on leadership for the electrical portion of existing products and new product design
- Preparing schematics, specifications and Bill of Materials for products
- Participate in cross-functional new product development efforts and other teams
- Defining and performing product validation testing
- Develop functional product testing for assembly processes
- Performing continuation engineering responsibilities, including part sourcing, diagnostic and troubleshooting, vendor support and continuous improvement
- Supporting manufacturing and other groups with analyzing and resolving design and manufacturing problems
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years demonstrated success in a fast paced, hands on engineering role
- Direct experience with high efficiency laser, LED, and associated drive circuits
- Knowledge of Lithium batteries
- Knowledge of both analog and digital electronics is required
- E CAD experience, part definition and layout
- Programming and compiling with C-code
- Firmware experience with 8 bit microcontroller families
- Self-starter able to undertake a project and run with it
- Strong design skills and ability to work effectively within engineering group
- Exceptional ability to communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Travel occasionally when necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- E CAD experiences using Altium for schematic capture., 3D part definition and layout
- PIC processor knowledge
- Software experience with Visual Studio
- Basic understanding 3D CAD software
- Design for manufacturing and lean manufacturing knowledge
